Shaanxi’s annual capture of 300,000 tons of coal chemical carbon dioxide project put into operation

On June 30, Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum’s annual capture of 300,000 tons of coal-to-chemical carbon dioxide project was officially put into operation in Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. Relying on coal-to-methanol plants and facilities, the project captures and purifies the carbon dioxide emitted during the production process and uses it for oil field flooding and geological storage. According to reports, after the project is put into operation, it is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 300,000 tons per year.
