Foam silicone rubber is liquid before vulcanization and is suitable for potting materials. The vulcanized foam can be used for a long time at -60~159℃, aging at 150℃, 72 hours, or -60~1070℃ ten times Alternate use of hot and cold, the foam still maintains its original performance. Foamed silicone rubber has high thermal stability, good thermal insulation, insulation, moisture resistance, shock resistance, especially good shock resistance at high frequencies, so it is an ideal lightweight packaging material. In addition, it can also be used as the filling material for the insulation interlayer, the floating material and the sealing material in the salt spray atmosphere. Foam silicone rubber can also be used as a filling, repairing and dressing material for orthopedics in medicine. In order to meet the fire protection requirements of power transmission lines, the American Anti-Corning Company has developed the flame-retardant room temperature vulcanized foamed silicone rubber DC3-6548. This kind of foamed silicone rubber is mainly used for fire-proof sealing of the places where wires and cables pass (such as holes in roofs, walls, buildings, etc.). It has very good flame-retardant performance and its limiting oxygen index reaches 39 (most plastics have a limiting oxygen index of only 20. ), the service life is up to 50 years. At present, this flame-retardant room temperature vulcanized foamed silicone rubber has been widely used in places with harsh environmental conditions, such as nuclear power plants, electronic computer centers, and offshore oil extraction devices, or places with particularly high requirements for fire protection.
