DuPont™ Hytrel® ECO B Products Set New Standard for Functional Sustainability

Developed to help customers reduce the environmental footprint of their products, B has the same performance as Hytrel® made from fossil raw materials
Products are comparable, but with biomass content up to 72% by weight. As a result, end manufacturers not only gain the processing advantages and mechanical properties of Hytrel®, but also reduce their environmental impact without having to recertify their processing.

DuPont produces Hytrel® ECO using a biomass balance method certified to ISCC+ (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) standards
B. This method is not only cost-effective, but also beneficial to the environment, and is widely used in the plastics value chain today. Hytrel® ECO
B uses second-generation biomass (biological residues and wastes) as raw materials, which will not occupy food and feed resources, nor will it lead to changes in land use. ISCC+ certification helps ensure the traceability of upstream supply chains, promotes environmentally, socially and economically sustainable production in global supply chains, and promotes the development of a circular economy.

For manufacturers looking to reduce the environmental impact of their products while requiring high-performance materials, Hytrel® ECO
B is the near perfect solution. This new sustainable solution not only meets the needs of manufacturers in industries such as consumer goods, sporting goods, consumer electronics and furniture, but is also an ideal sustainable material choice for the automotive industry. Hytrel® conventional grades are currently used in the automotive industry to produce constant velocity drive shaft boots.

As a thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPC-ET), Hytrel® has the advantage of being closer to rubber than other TPE products, while maintaining the flexibility and aesthetics of TPE products. Other types of TPE products are equally flexible, but rarely have the durability and strength of Hytrel®. Hytrel®
ECO B combines these hybrid properties, a uniqueness that can be seen in its range of more sustainable grades.

Hytrel® ECO B products have the same properties as Hytrel® conventional products.

In cases where Hytrel® conventional products have been identified, no re-evaluation is required after switching to Hytrel® ECO B products.

Hytrel® ECO
B is the latest sustainable material solution with the same durability and strength as all other Hytrel® products, as well as incredible flexibility. This series of materials can maintain excellent flexibility at extreme low temperatures, while maintaining good performance at extreme high temperatures. In addition, the family of materials is chemically resistant, can be coated on a variety of rigid thermoplastics, and has excellent melt stability to help processors efficiently recycle scrap.
