Covestro’s TPU films are OEKO-TEX® certified

Latest: Several thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) films from Covestro’s Dureflex® product line are now approved by the OEKO-TEX® Standard
100 certified. These films are breathable, water-repellent, tear-resistant, and especially skin-friendly. This makes them the material of choice for sporting goods and outdoor apparel, as well as furniture and car seats.

In 2019, several TPU film grades of the Platilon® brand produced in Europe received the OEKO-TEX® Standard
100 certified. This product has now expanded to a variety of products under the Dureflex® brand, manufactured in Deerfield, Massachusetts, USA.

These films are Class I certified. This applies to items that come into direct skin contact with infants and young children under three years of age. Therefore, it meets the highest requirements for skin compatibility of the product.

OEKO-TEX® Standard
100 is a globally harmonized, independent testing and certification system for all processing stages of textile raw materials, intermediate and final products. Test standards and limit values are often far beyond national and international norms. Therefore, this certification represents a highly effective product safety.
