It is reported that the project adopts Chinese standard construction, with a daily water supply capacity of 50,000 cubic meters, which will benefit 600,000 local residents.

Officials from relevant Angolan government departments, Cabinda provincial government officials, Chinese enterprise project employees and more than 300 local people attended the completion ceremony.

The Governor of Cabinda Province Niwenga said that the project can supply tap water 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, which will greatly ease the water shortage for residents’ living, and will also affect the local industry, education, culture, port transportation It is of great significance to play a positive role in other industries. Thanks to Chinese enterprises for their important role in the construction of the project.

“This water supply project has realized the dream of our generations. It is no longer necessary to go to the river 3 kilometers away before dawn to get water!” Jose, who lives in the Lucola community, told reporters. On that day, hundreds of people crowded and waited at the public water collection point. There were adults with buckets on their heads and children with plastic bottles in their hands. When the tap water poured out, people showed happy smiles on their faces.

Gu Jianling, project manager of China Railway Construction Cabinda Water Supply Project, said that since the start of the project, Chinese and Angolan builders have experienced many difficulties such as the epidemic and climate, and successfully completed the task. During the construction of the project, CRCC has created more than 10,000 jobs for local residents and trained a large number of skilled workers.

It is reported that this project is the largest livelihood project invested by Angola in Cabinda Province, mainly including water storage, water distribution and household connection facilities in the capital city of Cabinda and the urban area of ​​Llandana. About 24,000 households and courtyards will be built, and 74 centralized water supply points will be built, covering 92% of the population living area in Cabinda Province.
