Arkema launches new acrylic polyol emulsions for industrial coatings

Latest: Arkema has recently launched SYNAQUA 9511, a new high performance acrylic polyol emulsion for formulating industrial coatings with low VOC content (<150 g/l).

Claire Reynier, Global Marketing and Business Development Manager, Industrial Coatings, Arkema Coating Solutions, said:
9511 Acrylic Polyol Emulsion has the ability to significantly reduce VOC and performs well in 2K or 1K bake systems. Our goal is to help industrial coatings formulators achieve their sustainability goals more easily by reducing VOC levels with high-performance waterborne solutions. ”

SYNAQUA 9511 acrylic polyol emulsion is suitable for topcoat and single coat applications and can be used on a variety of substrates including general metal, plastic, glass, wood or concrete floors.

It is a hydroxyl group (3% OH)
Waterborne acrylic polyol emulsions designed for demanding industrial applications that traditionally require products to meet higher VOC requirements. The resulting coatings can help manufacturers meet key performance goals such as durability, gloss, adhesion and chemical resistance.

Specific application benefits include:

• On metal (2K PU topcoat): low VOC (86 g/l), chemical resistance, durability and good mechanical properties

• On metal (1K bake finish): low VOC (100g/l), good hardness, chemical resistance and low yellowing

• On plastics (2K PU topcoat): low VOC (85 g/l), good adhesion, high hardness, chemical resistance and durability

• On glass (1K bake single coat): low VOC (100 g/l), high hardness, good adhesion, water and chemical resistance

SYNAQUA 9511’s new acrylic polyol emulsion is a key addition to Arkema’s range of market-leading, high-performance water- and solvent-based binders and a wide range of additives and monomers for industrial coatings.

Claire Reynier added: “Sustainability is a core component of everything we do, from research and new product development to manufacturing to how we ship and handle our products.
We are always looking for new ways to help our clients meet current and emerging sustainability challenges in the industry. ”
