Pentamethyldiethylenetriamine is generally obtained by diethylenetriamine as the raw material for N-methylation. The methylation methods include formic acid/formaldehyde method and formaldehyde hydrogenation method.
Features and uses:
Pentamethyldiethylene triamine is a highly active and strong foaming polyurethane catalyst, which can also be used to balance the overall foaming and gel reaction. It is widely used in various polyurethane rigid foams, including polyisocyanuric acid sheet rigid foams, and can also improve foam fluidity, so it can improve product production technology and product quality. Pentamethyldiethylene triamine can also be used alone as a catalyst for polyurethane foam formulations, or in combination with other catalysts such as DNCHA. When used alone as a hard foam catalyst, the dosage range is 1.0-2.0 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of polyol. In addition to being used in rigid foam formulations, pentamethyldiethylenetriamine can also be used in the production of polymethane polyurethane soft block foams and molded foams.
